About Muhammad Ali
Muhammad Ali was born Cassius Clay in 1942. Ali changed his name in 1964 after joining the Nation of Islam. After turning professional Muhammad Ali amassed 56 wins and no draws in his heavy weight boxing career.
One of Muhammad Ali's most famous boxing matches against George Foreman was dubbed The Rumble in the Jungle and was promoted by Don King. Here Muhammad regained his title by defeating George Foreman.
In October 1975 Muhammad Ali fought Joe Frazier in a fight promoted by Don King called Thrilla in Manila. The fight lasted 14 rounds before Joe Frazier admitted defeat. This was the third time Muhammad Ali had fought Joe Frazier.
In later life Muhammad Ali developed Parkinson's disease. The BBC named Muhammad Ali as Sports personality of the Century in 1999.
